Impermanence

Nothing here is permanent so why do we even care
Nothing here stays, it just dissipates into thin air
I place importance on finding a direction
But what if it isn’t mine to find
Running the good old rat race while unraveling my own mind
Seeking and searching for my purpose
Striving for that meaning and surplus
But what if there isn’t one, what if it is ever evolving.
A series of beginnings, new importance each time we turn
What if the only point is to take it all in and learn
To learn about ourselves, how we are never the same
Changing and shifting with each new daybreak
Dawning with the sun, rising with the moon
Cresting like the waves, spinning like a typhoon
Gathering all of these moments, like debris within our path
Taking them in and releasing them as long as the storm lasts
