You give yourself away too easily
When you don’t yet know who you are
or what love is meant to be
Searching for something and you don’t even know it
If they can do it, so can you, you just have to own it
Who’s using who?
A competition for power
It feels good in the moment, but what about the later hours
Those moments when you’re sitting there all alone
Questioning your decisions, thinking your grown
Little do you know how childlike you are
Though you have years behind you
Your soul hasn’t stretched far
Missing the purpose of sex and desire
To link and ignite a spiritual fire
Intended to bond and unite
Being misused in this world to snuff out the light
Dimming our souls to less than intended
Instead of helping us become transcended
Causing and masking hurt, pain, loneliness and destruction
Lust is winning through the art of seduction
I’m not speaking as some bitter old prude
But as someone who too once viewed
Sex as physical pleasure
Something to do, not something to treasure
Someone who knows what it’s misuse can cause
Because I too, once failed to master the laws
That the universe has to teach
Be still, just listen, and experience will preach
