Coat

I’ve got this fancy winter coat
It protects me from the snow
When the cold wind blows
I barely feel it though

I love my coat so much
I decided to to keep it on
Now I see I went wrong
Because I am a bit too hot

Sweating and wasting away
Beneath this heavy coat
It protected me one day
But now it’s time to let it go

For it feels much to stuffy
When the sun is out and clouds are fluffy
The sun can’t touch me, when I need it
So I think I will just leave it

Take it off, I don’t need the protection
Let the sun caress me with its warm affection
Or let the wind blow, because I am safe at home
In my own skin… which turns out isn’t thin.
